...a nice day. I'm eager to go outside and do some potting. AC Moore had a sale on pots so I purchased a bunch for my tomatoes, squash, cucumbers...The cold spell we had a few weeks ago killed everything I had plented so I'm going for a second round.
Anyway, this weekend was pleasant. Did some shopping, watched some movies, drank some wine, saw Dan off to NYC.
Def. see Pretty Persuasion. Evan Rachel Wood is the best young actress around. The movie is so dark and clever. The one-liners are brilliant - including Evan Rachel asking her stepmom played by James King if she fucks ducks. I mean c'mon - is this my type of movie or what?!
Also watched June Bug...again, excellent acting by Amy Adams (The Wedding Date). The movie is just OK, but it's worth adding to the Netflix.
Ahhh, Damien Rice - The Blower's Daughter - what an incredible song. Just chills me. Brings me back to being in the movies with moms viewing Closer and thinking, god damn, what a movie...how good is Clive Owen.
Write more later. I've got some products to tout. Signing off...

Robert Treman Photos
Again, Please Stop Having Sex
Click on title of post to read about Anna Nicole.
I'm currently listening to the song Toy Soldiers by Martika circa 1988. Step by step...heart to heart...left right left...we all fall down...
Anyone check out the new MTV program The Hills with LC? I tivo'd it.
New eateries discovered - The Souvlaki House - greek, italian and pizza. it's a little strange. Custard icecream at Grand Slam Deli only in the summer. Breakfast burritos at the Farmer's Market.
Happy Birthday to my lil bro Pete. He's 14 today.
Currently reading: Any Place I Hang My Hat by Susan Isaacs. Last week I finished reading Something Blue by Emily Giffin and something else I can't remember - a mystery I think.

See It

Found a half-price sushi joint yesterday in The Commons - Little Tokyo. We ate a bunch of rolls and went to Cinemoplis to see Brick. Best movie I've seen in a long time. Particularly after suffering through The Da Vinci Code on Sunday night. What a bore! Also, on Saturday night Emily made us suffer through her favorite move evah -- The Pirate Movie--starring the Blue Lagoon boy and Kristy McNichol. I've never seen so many genres mixed in to one movie.
Anyway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt from Third Rock is just phenomenal. Love this boy. See this move. The dialogue is so clever.

Hot Day, Slow Day, What Should I Do Day
Dan's first year at the Johnson School is over. He's been incredibly bored for the past two weeks, and is eager to start his internship next weekend. His brother came to visit last week and they built some wheels for Moo. The apparatus still needs some tinkering, and the dog is a little embarassed about using it in public.
Sunday was commencement and Ithaca was hopping. The traffic on Friday was redick. People have been known to rent out rooms in their homes because the hotels fill up quickly. Our complex actually rents out furnished townhouses for the weekend. Most of the students have packed up and left for the summer and it's super quiet. No one to watch outside of my office window.
Yesterday would have been my mom's 49th birthday. I woke up in a panic because I couldn't remember how old she was. I went through an assortment of moods--hysteria, calm, restlessness, boredom...
We hit Robert Treman park, which is by far the most amazing spot in Ithaca that we have discovered. The waterfalls are spectacular, and it's got a big swimming hole -- much grander than Buttermilk. Danny and I wadded in to one portion to cool off from the suffocating heat...my suffocating emotions. Water is a great healer. I immediately felt better and Danny said I was smiling. I ran some water through my hair and...well, it sorta felt like a baptism. I felt cleansed for a few crisp moments.
